Manoj Khandelwal is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of Mining Engineering at Federation University Australia and an Australian Endeavour Fellow. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, a master’s degree in Rock Mechanics from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, and a PhD in Rock Blasting from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. With over 20 years of teaching and research experience in Australia and India, his expertise includes mining geomechanics, rock blasting, slope stability, sustainable mining, and AI applications in geo-engineering. Prior to joining Federation University Australia, he worked at Monash University, the Central Institute of Mining & Fuel Research, and MPUAT, India. Dr Khandelwal has published more than 250 research papers, with over 7,800 citations and an h-index of 50 (Scopus). He has also authored a technical book and completed several research and consultancy projects. His achievements include prestigious awards such as the Young Scientist Award by the President of India and the Australian Endeavour Fellowships.
